Porous elasticity error _ with Clay plasticity

Porous elasticity error _ with Clay plasticity

Hi,

I am trying to submit a model with porous-elastic + CamClay plasticity. I am running into the following error (please see below). The Bottom_Mesh_1-1 is a fixed body and I am not exactly sure what this error means. Can someone please help me in understanding the error. I am attaching the .inp file.
(I am not an engineer ; so I would greatly appreciate any knowledge on this material property)

Also I am using C3D10M - is this a good choice for the above material properties ?

Error in job CamClayRectangular032709: ELEMENT 1 INSTANCE BOTTOM-MESH-1-1 INTEGRATION POINT 1 HAS AN INITIAL PRESSURE OF 0.0000. THE PRESSURE MUST BE POSITIVE

RE: Porous elasticity error _ with Clay plasticity

You have to define intial pressure (use Keyword and insert value of the initial pressure in the input file), otherwise the strength will be zero.
Porous elasticity implies that you should use SOIL analysis and use Displacemenet_Pore Pressure Element, I forgot it is identity in ABAQUS. (I do not have ABAQUS now)
but C3D10M doesnot seem to have pore pressure formulations.
You said not engineer...what is your field..?

Thanks geotechniqa ! I will look it up in the manual and find out the element you are suggesting. Or altenatively I think I will open a new thread and pose the question in the forum. I have many contacts in the problem. So I want to make sure I am using the right recommended elements.

Answer to your question - I am a hard rock Geologist.
