Face to Face spacing between 6"-600# flanges

Face to Face spacing between 6"-600# flanges

(OP)
I'd appreciate assistance where in the codes I can find a table with recommended spacing (gap or distance) between flanges faces. The particular application I have this time is for a 6"-600# flange connection using 2Xflexitallic gaskets and an orifice plate (0.130" thickness). Temperature is 120°F.

Thanks very much,

Regards,

RE: Face to Face spacing between 6"-600# flanges

The gap dependent on your gasket thickness?  Orifice flanges have jacks so spreading them should not be an issue.  Most folks use 1/8" gaskets so the spacing should be: 1/8"*2+0.13"  Please look at your piping spec to ensure what gasket thickness you should be using.

RE: Face to Face spacing between 6"-600# flanges

Be sure to use the compressed thickness of the gaskets and not the "off the shelf" thickness since you are using Flexitallics.
