Converting Static FEM into "Stick" Model for Flutter Analysis

Converting Static FEM into "Stick" Model for Flutter Analysis

(OP)
Hi everyone, I've a reasonably fine-meshed FEM comprising of approx. 20K elements (mainly CQUAD's) of aircraft. Its a Nastran FEM, and its made of composite materials developed using Patran. I'll like to create a "stick" model representation of this aircraft so that we can use it for further aeroelasticity studies, e.g flutter analysis. To do so, I understand we have to develop the EI-GJ representation, as well as mass properties of the aircraft. Is there any utilities within Patran that can allow us to extract the EI-GJ fairly automatically?

Thanks!

RE: Converting Static FEM into "Stick" Model for Flutter Analysis

You can use the Patran utility Section Tool.
with this utility you can easily calculate section property.
You can find it Utilities> General > Section Tool.

hope this help
