I am trying to determine what B31.3 permits me to do regarding performing hydrostatic tests, when the ambiant temperature is less than 0 degrees celcius.

I read thread292-227826: How to treat the testing water for winter temperatures however it references B31.1, my application is for process piping.  I would also like to know where in B31.3 it states what I am permitted to do.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks

Read 345.4 of ASME B31.3. At 0 deg C or below use another fluid for the test.

I build water heaters!
pneumatic test or add glycol to your test water will do
you may still have to heat a little per Code and inspectors approvals

you can also do acombo  hydropneumatic
