0.1% Fe(NO3)3 . 9H2O in 2% (v/v) HClO4 means what??

0.1% Fe(NO3)3 . 9H2O in 2% (v/v) HClO4 means what??

(OP)
i having trouble to solve this formula :

0.1% Fe(NO3)3 . 9H2O in 2% (v/v) HClO4

i am confused about the amount and concentration of these two chemicals..
what do i understand is 0.1% means 0.1g in 100ml (powder)
while,2% (v/v) means 2ml in 100ml.

hopefully, u can help me to solve this..

RE: 0.1% Fe(NO3)3 . 9H2O in 2% (v/v) HClO4 means what??

I read this differently: as a solution of the salt expressed in units of mass per volume of solution.
In other words, as I see it now, it is a 2% v/v (aqueous?) solution of perchloric acid containing 0.1% mass of the nitrate. Probably 0.1 g of the salt per 100 mL of solution.

But I may be wrong. smile

BTW, do you mean the hexahydrate: Fe(NO3)3.6H2O?
