Acid Cleaning of 410SS

Acid Cleaning of 410SS

Acid Cleaning of 410SS

(OP)
Hi all
i have a question.
as u know for A.S.S. generally acid cleaning done for degreasing and etc.
some of my vendors tell me that for 410ss, mechanical cleaning is better and they don't suggest acid cleaning for this type of steel.
are they true?
what is the reason?
best regards

RE: Acid Cleaning of 410SS

sometimes the acid-bath can turn on you and start eating up your metal with martensitic stainless, esp. if you occasionally produce some nefarious microstructures, Cr-depleted areas; or if vendor process control is weak.
