I have seen the Hooper 2K method and Darby 3K method for finding pressure losses in valves and fittings referenced in other threads(ie thread378-173164: Crane 410 fittings), but where can an in-depth explanation of these methods be found?

The two-K method predicts by William B. Hooper appeared in August24, 1981 Chemical Engineering Jounal

Calculate head loss caused by change in pipe size by William B. Hooper appeared in November 7, 1988 Chemical Engineering Jounal

Correlate Pressure Drops through Fittings by Ron Darby appeared in July 1999 Chemical Engineering Journal
