drag and drop two assemblys together so origin match?

(OP)
Is there any way to drag and drop two assemblys together so there origins match? This is useful when all your assemblys share a common reference point, the orgin.

RE: drag and drop two assemblys together so origin match?

just constrain each subassy origin to the top level origin..

RE: drag and drop two assemblys together so origin match?

or just constrain each subassy origin to each other if you don't want it also aligning to the top level assy origin.

RE: drag and drop two assemblys together so origin match?

Or if put together correctly you could RMB on the Assembly and go to Properties.  On the Occurrence Tab you can set the origin of the ASM to 0,0,0.

RE: drag and drop two assemblys together so origin match?

Or download qwicksert and fix

RE: drag and drop two assemblys together so origin match?

2010 has some new features that might work also.
Like "place at component origin"
selects an existing component and then select, place and constrain a new component aligned to and coincident with the selected component's origin.

RE: drag and drop two assemblys together so origin match?

Or place them both using the assembly tool 'Ground and root at origin' which comes with the development tools, or is standard now in IV2010.
