How to measure a simple distance between 2 elements?

How to measure a simple distance between 2 elements?

How to measure a simple distance between 2 elements?

(OP)
I have a sub-component of my assembly- a simple cylinder. After turning "off" all other components so only the cylinder shows, I wish to measure the simple length of the cylinder. I clicked on the part and discovered "properties" greyed out. None of the "measure" options seem to address the needed info. Our senior S-E hand says "Don't worry about it- they cut these 'to length' in the shop." AARRGGHH!
Any suggestions?

RE: How to measure a simple distance between 2 elements?

You need to make the part active in the assy. then you can measure the distance.
