bill of material numbers in assembly
bill of material numbers in assembly
(OP)
hello - sorry for the "newbie" question but here goes - i have an assembly drawing that a customer has supplied - just the model of a hydraulic hose routing layout - i am able to generate a bill of material off of the tool bar for b/m which has numbers on the table from 1-92 - how can i identify where these numbers are in the model - i.e. item #1 is a hose fitting - how can i show where item no.1 is in the model??
nay help would be greatly apprecaited - thank you - using solidworks 2009

RE: bill of material numbers in assembly
A simple and quick way would be to use the AutoBalloon function. It will not attach balloons to the hidden or internal components though.

Do you have just the 2D drawing or the 3D model?
What do you mean by "the tool bar for b/m"?

The 3D model-based BOM usually follows the Feature Manager assy order. To place Item numbers in the model you would need to use the Annotations function and manually place notes.

/insert/annotations/balloons
The numbers are in the tree order.
I have no BOM Icon on my assembly tool bar, however, so I cannot create a bill.
What next?
