Government Grants

(OP)
Does anyone know of a government site on the internet, where one can go to without risk of being defrauded, to investigate and apply for a US government research grant?

I tried in the past on the internet and was nearly taken.  That really undermined my confidence in the internet and I don't want that to happen again.

RE: Government Grants

Go to places like TRB, DHS, etc. and look around for the RFP section.

It's unbelievable how much tax money goes to these things.  I've mostly worked on private research projects in the past and they were lucky to be $50k-75k.  Public projects usually have at least one, if not two more zeroes, LOL.

If you've not done this before, you might try partnering with a local university, also.  Research proposals are a royal pain and the first one is very difficult.  The university will also have a lot more of the needed references, inter-library loan, personnel who help with this kind of thing, etc.
