Licence question re DWG Editor

Licence question re DWG Editor

Licence question re DWG Editor

(OP)
The company I work for has 2 network seats to be shared among 3 users (SW2009). I would like to install the DWGeditor on  my foreman's desktop so he can view /print both SW and Auto cad drawings.

The Solidworks web page states "DWGeditor is free with the purchase of SolidWorks software"

Can anyone tell me if this means.. on any computer on the network? ...and, will it use up a seat while in use?

If..I can install it on "any" computer on the network (we have already used up the trial period which worked very well) how do I license it / where do I get the SN?

Our computer department has very limited experience in this area and I would like to know before hand what is possible.

Thank you for your time

Thank you.. Exactly the information I can pass on to our "computer" guys. I will contact our VAR to find where / how to obtain these 3 licenses.

RE: Licence question re DWG Editor

Ralph2,

If you have network seats the DEGeditor licenses are already there in your license file.  Just load DWGeditor on your foreman's computer.  Plug in the network serial number for SW and point it to your license server.  He will be all set.

To check this for your self, launch Start > Programs > SW2009 > SW2009 SP??? > SW Tools > SW Network License Adminstrator. Under License Usage select DWGeditor and you will see that 6 seats of DWGeditor are available for use.

Cheers,

Thanks AnnaWood
I tried that.. from my foremans computer.. In the DWGeditor registration box I put (what I thought) was the network license number.. but I got a invalid number error message. Then I also tried finding where the network server license was stored and could not find that either.
But... knowing this is in fact possible.. will pursue this again on Monday

Thanks for the information
