NX 6 + MOLDWIZARD - automatically assign attribute to component

NX 6 + MOLDWIZARD - automatically assign attribute to component

(OP)
Good afternoon everybody!!

I am new here, I would like to ask a question:
I am a moldwizard user, within NX6. I use master-model technique for every component drawing.
I would like to be able to edit ONLY ONCE PER PROJECT some informations (like designer name, job number, customer name and codes) and have them automatically added to attributes in each master model drawing I create.

Is it possible? How can I do that?

RE: NX 6 + MOLDWIZARD - automatically assign attribute to component

Either set up your drawing tempates with those values pre-defined or create a little macro to run them in for you.

Most people these days use attributes to define the values that appear as notes in their title blocks. The canned templates that are shipped with NX already work to such a system so if I can assume you're working with that or something like it then you'll know how to edit the attributes. All may need to do beyond that is either store the default values in the templates by saving them on your machine, or as I suggested have a macro to change the values for you.

Personally I don't bother. What I do instead is to open a file with the attributes defined with the correct values and copy the half a dozaen attributes that I require to the clipboard. Then I open the series of drawings that I'm working with and simply go in and paste those attributes over the top and the title blocks will update automatically.

Best Regards

Hudson

copy - paste of attributes is what we do at the moment. I will give a try to the macro stuff.

Thank you very much!
