NX5 Manufacturing Tool Lists

NX5 Manufacturing Tool Lists

NX5 Manufacturing Tool Lists

(OP)
Hi,

I am trying to find a good way to give my tool list data to the shop floor.
Something highly automated. Ideally, something with a picture.

Anyone have any great solutions or ideas?

Also, you know when you verify a program the tool shows up as a solid based on the tool and holder definition?
Can I access that solid in anyway? It might be handy to make sketches for complex custom tools.

Thanks,
JAY

RE: NX5 Manufacturing Tool Lists

What version of NX are you using?

In some versions after you use the verify the Solid Model of the tool will be available when you select Window - More and select the tool from the list.

As far as a tool list have you looked at the Shop Doc's option?

Thanks John,

I am using NX5
Yeah, I can see the tool in my assy navigator and everything, but I can't seem to select it or save it or do anything with it. It's only there for the verify to use. The WINDOW>MORE option is greyed out when verify is running.

I have played around with shop docs and without major customization, those are no good to me. I'm too picky. :P

Perhaps, given the time, I will write my own shop docs post.

Thanks,
JAY
