Extract the fundamental frequency

Extract the fundamental frequency

Extract the fundamental frequency

(OP)
Hi
I am performing a quasi-static analysis of Spin forming process in Abaqus\Explicit. I have two questions as following:

- To determine an appropriate step time, I need to extract the fundamental frequency of sheet. I followed the procedure of frequency extraction on Documentation (Example: forming a channel in Abaqus/Explicit). In this example, they showed a result that the blank has a fundamental frequency of 140 Hz, corresponding to a period of 0.00714 s. I run the simulation and got frequency 139.76 cycle/time (rounded 140Hz) at Mode 2. Could you please explain to me how can I get time value of 0.00714s. And what is the value of 7.71084E+05 showed on simulated results.

Thank you very much
Regards
Van Sy

RE: Extract the fundamental frequency

Van Sy,

The time value of 0.00714s is just 1/Frequency (i.e. 1/139.76).  I am unsure as to what you are referring to when you speak of "the value of 7.71084E+05".  Can you clarify what results you are talking about?

Regards.
Gordon

Thanks for your reply.I understood that value.
About the value 7.71084E+05, it showed next frequency value at Mode 2. I read Abaqus documentation, it is eigenvalue corresponding to 139.76 cycle/time.
Thanks Gordon again

Van Sy
