Vintage Relay Curve Info

Vintage Relay Curve Info

(OP)
I am evaluating test reports on many type of relays here on an Air Force Base.  The NETA Maintenance Testing Specifications can be used as a comparison for determining if the relay is within an acceptable level, but it would be best if I had the actual trip curves from the manufacturer.  The trouble I am having is finding trip curve literature on older relays.  For instance, I cannot find Westinghouse trip curve IL 41-296G.  I tried searching websites for it.  Does anyone know of any website(s) where information like this can be found?  Literature on relays that are still available for purchase can be found without much creative searching, but vintage relays are a challenge.  Any advice on this?

RE: Vintage Relay Curve Info

What type of relay?  Information about many/most of the old Westinghouse protective relays can be found on the ABB website, but you may need to be searching for the relay name rather than the IL number.

RE: Vintage Relay Curve Info

If they are electro-mechanical type fed from CT's they will probably have a CO prefix, as in CO-11 for an extemely inverse TCC curve.  These are available from ABB.  Most of the newer type microprocessor relay manufacturers also model these curves in their relays and will give you a formula to allow you to draw your own curves based on their implementation.  Better than nothing, but I would still prefer to have the original mfg. curve.

In fact, if you know the relay type and I have it, I would be glad to scan it for you.  Would probably have some distortion, but again, better than nothing.
