Layer Properties Manager - unable to change colour
Layer Properties Manager - unable to change colour
(OP)
I am using AutoCAD 2008 and I have a problem which fairly major and seemingly unsolvable
After opening the layer properties manager, I highlight a specific layer and then click on the colour, in order to change it to a different colour.
Unfortunately, nothing visible happens - usually another window opens with the colour palette but I can't see it. I have a feeling that it is open [somewhere] as unless I press escape, I cannot click on anything else within the Layer Properties Manager.
I would be grateful for any suggestions - I have reinstalled AutoCAD but that didn't change anything, and this problem is seriously hampering me as I use colour plot styles
Thanks

RE: Layer Properties Manager - unable to change colour
Can you change the colour manually?: layer -> highlight a specific layer and then click on the colour -> type "3" for the colour number. What does happen?
Moving a dialog: ALT + Spacebar -> <enter> -> arrow keys

RE: Layer Properties Manager - unable to change colour
Alternately, the "select color" dialog box and the "layer properties manager" both open up at the last location that they were closed at, so if it is off of your screen it will continue to open there until you move it. You could try to change your screen resolution to its absolute maximum setting if it is not there already. Then you may be able to see the dialog box when it opens and move it back to the center of the screen.
Also if you are set up to work with dual or triple monitors and you do not have them hooked up it may be positioning the dialog box on the other monitor.
hope this helps -ds
RE: Layer Properties Manager - unable to change colour
I tried all your suggestions, unfortunately to no avail. I ended up having to uninstall AutoCAD completely and then install it from a fresh.
For some unknown reason that did the trick, whereas 'reinstalling' it didn't.

For future reference, another option would be to change your screen resolution.
