Temporary graphics help

Temporary graphics help

Anybody know how to turn this annoying feature off? It arrived, I believe, in Solidworks 2008. But when you close a sketch, or go back in to edit it, solidworks gives a little preview of the revolved sketch. I've tried to find a toggle button in document properties, but haven't found anything. I've also tried to turn the color to white or a light yellow, but solidworks just makes it grey. any help would be great. thanks.

RE: Temporary graphics help

I believe you're wanting to turn off Instant3D.

Thank you both so much!  It's been bugging us here, at work, since 2008.

RE: Temporary graphics help

What's more annoying being able to see if your sketch modification will cause a feature to fail before leaving the sketch or have the option to show or hide the Instant Preview.

It has it's uses but nobody seems to notice those when complaining about interface changes. I use Instant3D here and there and it's quite useful when used with the live section planes. But having to move to the Features Tab by clicking or rolling your mouse wheel to it it's annoying so if you want to use it or toggle on off or know if it's active move it to an always visible icon location.

Do you also hate the context toolbars? I find them a lot better than a large list of text & icons and they reduce the time needed to select what you want to do but because they are new most people avoid them because of resistance to change.

Arguing about the usefulness of Instant3D is as much a waste of time as the continuous SW vs. ProE rants. I've used lots of different CAD software packages and which ever one I've used won't always do things exactly the way you'd like to because there is no CAD software with Psychic Abilities yet.
