Learning a new CAD package
Learning a new CAD package
(OP)
Well now that I find myself in the vast pool of CAD Designers here in AZ
, I am looking to see the value of learning CATIA on my own. I have worked with Pro/E, SolidWorks and AutoCAD. I am not familiar with CATIA at all and would love some advice. I would prefer to be able to go at my own pace since I have the time to dedicate to learning this new tool. Is there one site better than the others? I have looked at "i get it".
Thanks

RE: Learning a new CAD package
I.get.it is pretty good; broad cirriculum, written and video instructions, labs and assessments.
CATIA is not that easy to learn on your own. I'd suggest sticking to the systems you know and improving or expanding your exisiting skills, unless there are jobs out there for rookie CATIA users.
Best of luck Huntress!
RE: Learning a new CAD package
How are you going to learn Catia without having the software? If you are currently "in the pool",it's assumed that you don't have access. And it's quite expensive...
It's not a great time to learn Catia. Manufacturing jobs are suffering everywhere. If you can't get a job with the other experience that you have, I doubt you'll find any favor amongst potential employers who have access to a huge pool of hungry (experienced) Catia operators.
Sorry to be shrewd, but that's the reality...
