dear All,

I have a problem....(maybe this is not anews!!!)

I have attach a file, in the right there is the mesh that I have, in the left the mesh that I want (I would like!) to have...for a hihg number of nodes...

someone can help me???

Thank you very much,
cheers
Francesca

RE: mesh problem

Hi

You cant have this type of mesh if you want to use a continuous mesh. You can make two different meshes and join them using tie constraint.

RE: mesh problem

I am modelling a hollow rod with a circular plate equal to the rod outer diameter at it's top. When I mesh, I specify that it be meshed in certain numbers along the circumference, equal for both parts. But when I assemble the parts, the nodes do not coincide. Can I bring the nodes to coincide somehow? Is there a better way to do this?
Thank!

RE: mesh problem

Hi,

Are you going to define a contact between the parts or use some form of constraints? In case of a contact, there is no requirement of coinciding nodes.

RE: mesh problem

Hi!

Yeah, I was going to tie the two surfaces together. I did the tie and the output was not what I expected.
But now, I used a different mesh element type and the problem is solved.
Thank you anyway.

Bibek

RE: mesh problem

How do I apply a uniformly distributed load on the surface of a 3-d model?
Thanks!
