Changing analysis type on restart

Changing analysis type on restart

Changing analysis type on restart

(OP)
Hi everyone,

I have performed a nonlinear static analysis, then with the deformed results I want to do a modal analysis. The plan was to do a restart, but after having read a little more about restarts it says:

"The analysis type Antype cannot be changed if it is a restart run".

Does anyone know how to get round this problem??!

Thanks
Will

Well I have discovered that you can perform a prestressed modal analysis by using PSTRESS,ON then solving the static solution, then issuing antype, modal and using the psolve command. I haven't got it working yet but if I do I will put a note here for future reference.
