Fanuc 6MB - Can't set parameters - Help

Fanuc 6MB - Can't set parameters - Help

(OP)
Hi; I have a 1984 Okada VMC with Fanuc 6MB controlls. The machine has had all the parameters cleared but I have a paper list of the settings. I want to re-enter them by hand. The machine worked fine before it was moved. My problem is I can't write any parameters! Here's what I am doing:

1) Setting the switch on the main board to enable (I get error code 100 on the display when I do this) and select MDI mode.
2) Select a parameter, hit, "P" and key in a value (the p and the value appear on the bottom of the screen)
3) Hit, "input"
4) Nothing happens

What am I doing wrong? One other item is I'm getting a, "not ready" message on the bottom of screen which I assume means the machine is in e-stop mode. Does the, "not ready" message need to be cleared before I can write parameters?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks; Erik

RE: Fanuc 6MB - Can't set parameters - Help

From what I can remember of those models of Fanuc controllers, you can only enter parameters when the E-stop is down, so that it can't possible be running at the time.

Hope this helps.

That solved the problem.  Thanks!
