PDM Works project bulk check-out

PDM Works project bulk check-out

PDM Works project bulk check-out

(OP)
One of my PDMWorks users works out of the office quite often. We keep our common library models (motors, bearings, switches, etc) in a common library project in the vault. He's asked if there's an easy way he can copy the entire common library project to his local drive without selecting each model in the project and checking it out individually.

Any thoughts?

Yes, use the shift key to highlight everything you want to open. When PDM wants out to open the files, in the lower right hand corner uncheck the open now box.

That works, but my project has many sub-projects with models in them and we'll be shift picking for an hour. I'd like to grab the entire project and all its sub-projects with one command.

OK, Try this.
In the PDM Vault open your first sub-project and then open your last sub-project. Now click on the first file in your first sub-project and then click on the last file in your last sub-project. Use the shift key to highlight everything you want to open. When PDM wants out to open the files, in the lower right hand corner uncheck the open now box.

RE: PDM Works project bulk check-out

expanding on this a bit, is there a way to select an assembly, and have it print all drawings associated?

RE: PDM Works project bulk check-out

Yes, open the highest level drawing from the PDM Vault. Save it to your local drive. Then use SolidWorks Task Scheduler to print all the drawings in that folder.

RE: PDM Works project bulk check-out

if i open the highest level, the drawings dont get selected. is ther an option for that? Thanks!

RE: PDM Works project bulk check-out

What I mean by highest level,  "Is open your assembly drawing from PDM Vault". The setting in the PDM options, tab Command Defaults Check out / Open check the box Include drawings.
