How pipe dia determine ?

How pipe dia determine to suction the certain density material from any certain distance ? How can we know the required MASS OF AIR and SUCTION AIR PRESSOR for the same ?

RE: How pipe dia determine ?

One pipe diameter is one pipe diameter.
If the pipe is 6" pipe then one pipe diameter is 6"
If you are working in metric units then 150 mm pipe one diameter is 150.

RE: How pipe dia determine ?

Convert standard cubic measurements to actual inside pip;e flow volumes by P1 V1 / T1 = P2 V2 / T2 / compressibility_factor

"Pumping accounts for 20% of the world's energy used by electric motors and 25-50% of the total electrical energy usage in certain industrial facilities."-DOE statistic (Note: Make that 99% for pipeline companies) http://virtualpipeline.spaces.live.com/
