Quad Rings

Quad Rings

(OP)
What are the primary uses of Quad Rings [X-Rings?] vs. O-Rings?

RE: Quad Rings

We use them in higher pressure hydraulic components as they do not change shape as much and can be easier to install. Many spool valves use them instead of o-ring to seal the end of the spool.

We will be testing them as expanders under acetal seal ring for cartridge valve operating from 0 to 15,000 psi.

RE: Quad Rings

They are also used quite a bit in dynamic applications such as pistons.

Because of their shape they won't fail by being twisted, and also provide two points of sealing vs one provided by standard o-rings.
