NX bookmarks

(OP)
Does anyone have more information (besides the NX online help) on how File->Save->Bookmark works? My understanding was that I loaded the parts that I wanted to look at, in a large assembly, in NX. Then, after I logoff and come back in the morning, I launch the bookmark and am back to where I was the day before (quick and easy). However, I have found that it takes hours to open a bookmark created this way. I have been told to use filters first and then create the bookmark. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RE: NX bookmarks

Version of NX ?
Teamcenter ?

It should work and hasn't really ever caused us that kind of problem. However the version of NX makes some difference as the method was changed post NX-4

RE: NX bookmarks

Additionally, if using imprecise assemblies, modifications to the intermediate level assembly nodes can cause both bookmarks and filters to fail.

RE: NX bookmarks

If you just want to get back to where you were the day before just before you log off, then use the save context button. it's on the assemblies tool bar and the button has a little camera and floppy disk and the restore context has a little camera and a folder on it. Basically save context takes a snap shot of your assembly structure i.e. what is open, what isn't, what is suppressed etc and saves the structure information off in a temporary file, then when you log on again in the morning, clicking the restore context button will load the structure exactly as it was the day before. You can only do one at a time though where as bookmarks, you can save as many of them (plmxml files) as you want.
