A105/LF2 ENP for non-corrosive service

A105/LF2 ENP for non-corrosive service

(OP)
My Client gave me a datasheet of a ball valve, in which an electroless nickel plating surface treatment (min. thk. 50 microns)is required for a standard (non corrosive) service.
I really don't understand the advantages of this choice versus the cost of this treatment (i have 16" valves!!).

Thanks

RE: A105/LF2 ENP for non-corrosive service

Your customer didn't provide the working condition?
In my opinion, LF2 is carbon steel, always do phosphitized for rust prevention, maybe the medium can't allow P or something else. So do the nickel coating.
forget it.  I think you just need ask the customer for the working condition directly.

The ENP is for wear resistance and improved long term sealing.
