I need to replace some 5/8-11 SHCS on a 20 year old pressure vessel. What grade bolts must I use? B7?

RE: replacement bolts

WHAT'S THE TEMP??

PROBABLY B7 OR B7M OR 320 OR.....

RE: replacement bolts

cram...

If the pressure vessel is an ASME vessel and it is registered with the National Board in Ohio, I would purchase the U-1 data sheetfrom them. ( about $25.00 as I recall)

The U-1 datasheet will tell you the original bolt material.

Other materials may be reasonable subsititutions.

As stated by vesselfab, temperature probably controls the material selection.

The ASME tank is rated for 110 PSI at 120°F
