How not to get ahead, and what not to post at your desk

How not to get ahead, and what not to post at your desk

How not to get ahead, and what not to post at your desk

(OP)
So I was under more than a little pressure and decided I needed a way to get out a little frustration...  I stayed late on a Friday night and created a little flow chart to politely tell people to go away when I am facing a difficult deadline.  I have never posted said chart.

Now, today I had the idea of generalizing this chart and injecting a little steroids.  What you will find attached is WAY more acidic than the original, and if ONLY INTENDED FOR HUMOUR.  I accept no responsibility for your loss of employment should you choose to actually post, or otherwise use, this thing!

Cheers,

YS

RE: How not to get ahead, and what not to post at your desk

I've seen similar flow charts floating around this office and on our sites, though they were "way more acidic" than the one you posted :)

Very nice, but I don't think it's so bad as to get anyone into trouble.  Pretty mild compared to things I have posted.

Just a couple of comment:

Queue instead of Cue?
Judicious instead of Judiscious?

Acidic?  Barely...
more like tepid kool-aid than even lemonade, and hardly comparable to hydrochloric acid.

The last one I had said:
I'm Busy, so unless you're one of the three B's, Bugg Off Buddy!!!

Brought Beer
Big B00Bs
The Boss!!

Then we hired a female assistant and I removed the sign right away.

Don't make it so polite, it'll be better that way, and by all means post it!

Nice chart!
I worked with an engineer once that simply had large red words that said "GO AWAY!" when he was busy.

Looks like a good chart to me, even office-protocol professional in delivery.  I don't have a flow chart, but I do have a chrome decision-maker spin-the-wheel thing at my desk that I have used more than once.

It's not as acidic as I would like, responses are:

Reorganize
No

I simply have a sign at my desk:

"I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either."

That is way too nice for our office.  With no four letter words the guys at work would bug me on purpose. lol

RE: How not to get ahead, and what not to post at your desk

looking over at my office cubicle wall, I do see a "jump to conclusions" mat that I hung up.

Affixed to the wall with Swingline staples, no doubt...

Well, this has been an interesting and strangely supportive thread.  I appreciate the responces...

I fear that I am much too mild mannered, corporately ambitious and docile to post my handy work.

I do hope it finds a nice home.  Next to the letter of protest regarding the switch to the Boston stapler in Milton's office would do nicely.

Cheers,

YS
