Should this pipe need to do flattening test ?

Should this pipe need to do flattening test ?

Should this pipe need to do flattening test ?

(OP)
Do 508×42, material is 15NiCuMoNb5, PO standard is EN 10216-2
In the mandatory test section of table 13 of EN 10216-2 , it says that "Flattening test for D < 600 mm and T/D ratio ≤ 0,15 but T ≤ 40 mm or Ring tensile test for D > 150 mm and T ≤ 40 mm"
   I don't catch the meaning of the word "but " , I think pipe whose wall thickness more than 40mm has no need for Flattening test. Because the wall thickness is too high to do Flattening test  But these tests are mandatory. I am confused

RE: Should this pipe need to do flattening test ?

terry8u8;
Please provide the exact wording that pertains to this Note in Table 13 of EN 10216-2. I cannot completely understand your wording, it looks like something is missing.

RE: Should this pipe need to do flattening test ?

The "but" in this table refers to Note (a) for T less than or equal to 40mm, the manufacturer can use either a flattening test or a ring tensile test. The ring tensile test must be used for D greater than 150mm and T less than or equal to 40mm.

so it means that T more than 40mm and D < 600 mm and T/D ratio ≤ 0,15 ,the manufacture must do the flattening test, doesn't it ?

T less than or equal to 40mm, the manufacturer can use either a flattening test or a ring tensile test
