Corrosion inhibitors

Anybody out there use VCIs or VPIs (Vapor Phase Corrosion Inhibitors) in non-vented electrical enclosures to prevent corrosion? They are used widely when shipping, working by emitting a vapor that coats electronics. They are little round disks or some look like a plastic 9 volt battery. They are cheap, last about a year, but I question how well they really work. Any opinions or experience?

RE: Corrosion inhibitors

We use Cortec VPCI foam emitters extensively in non vented enclosures & are very pleased with the results.

Thanks for the feedback. Cortec is the leading mfr we were looking at, along with 2 others. They are inexpensive, but the labor to install many hundreds every year adds up.
