Mirror Feature Issue

Mirror Feature Issue

Mirror Feature Issue

(OP)
I created a wing from an airfoil made using splies which is just the half of the total wing. now when i mirror the componenets in the assembly mode i see that there is difference in the volume calculated whcih causes the center of mass to be offset rather than from being in plane of symmetry. Is there any thign geometrically wrong.

Thanking you

RE: Mirror Feature Issue

Check the material assignment for the mirrored part in the assy.

No material is assigned for the right wing part.

RE: Mirror Feature Issue

I have had this problem in the past with lofts or fills but never with an extrude.  One thing that improves the accuracy of the mass properties is in the options there is an accuracy level.  Set it to Maximum.  I think that behind the scenes for complex geometry it does something like creating an STL and calculates the volume.  I have started to check all my symmetric models with mass properties.  I would definitely send this to SW.  It might be worth fully constraining the sketch but that is a long shot.  Sorry I wasn't more help.
