Modeling threads
Modeling threads
(OP)
Hi all,
I have to model some threads and I've never done it before. In my designing and detailing I've always used simplified thread representation (it works for machined metal parts). This, however, is a plastic molded part and I have to have the threads in the model.
Can someone direct me to a good tutorial for helical sweep protrusions?
I'd sure appreciate the help.
Thanks,
Gilberto

Thanks anyway,

RE: Modeling threads
Here is a legitimate question about modeling threads. I have my threads modeled in the part but the ends are squared off. What is the method for tapering the ends of the threads?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Gil

The arc at the end of the line works great.
Thanks again,
