Importing Catia V4.19 data into V5R4?

(OP)
Hi,
A fundamental question im sure for many. I have been asked how to import Catia V4R19 data into V5R4, however Im only familiar with V4 at this stage so if anyone can give me an idiots list of commands to import, preferably native catia .exp files, i would be most grateful.
with thanks in advance.

RE: Importing Catia V4.19 data into V5R4?

copy the shortcut on your desktop to make a new one and change the target for :

"C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B08\intel_a\code\bin\CNEXT.exe" -batch -e ExtractModelFromSequential

then you can use your .exp to get the .model... and use them with v5...

beside that you should upgrade to v5r8... r4 is OLD !

use your v4 .model as this in assembly... or translate them with the copy / past (as spec). This will translate your v4 solide into v5 solide (part) with history, for surfaces you wont have any history or link (parent/children) in v5 unless you used the skin function (GSM)...
