Pouring Concrete against steel column
Pouring Concrete against steel column
(OP)
Can anyone provide guidance in the form of a detail, or description of the best way to pour an elevated slab against a steel column? Is a piece of joint material between the two sufficient for expansion, should there be joints around the area for cracking?

RE: Pouring Concrete against steel column
Have never noticed any problems with cracking around the column.
If you are reffering to a different system for the elevated slab, I apologize for my misunderstanding of the question.
RE: Pouring Concrete against steel column
If elevated slab, I would suggest: pouring tight to column and reinforced with a pair of bars on each side of column.
