Lead free enamel paint for industrial machinery
Lead free enamel paint for industrial machinery
(OP)
This is my first posting in this forum.Perhaps this issue might have been discussed in the past. Please bear with me if it is a familar topic discussed here.
I am manufacturing some parts for barges to be assembled in US. The drawing refers to final painting of the parts with an enamel paint. But it does not mention any specific standard of conformity.
I was just curious to know the general acceptance standards of parts or machineries in US using paints. Will there be any issue by the authorities when I ship these parts from India.
Also a paint manufacturer informed me that when the steel part is painted,it is very difficult to analyse for lead content from the painted surface. Is this right?
There is a probability that the barge can be used in a drinking water facility. In such an event, from the painted parts can there be a lead contamination?
Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks, I am aware of the CSPSC restrictions and it applies to garments, toys, etc. Not for industrial products. The parts that I supply as sub assemblies are not going to be welded probably.I shall check with my customer about this.
But what is your acceptance practice for industrial jobs done abroad and used in US? Are there any restrictions?
