Modifing Patterns

Modifing Patterns

(OP)
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how to modify the "parent" of patterned features? I would like to use "insert mode" or something similar to add chamfers and rounds to the first patterned feature.

Thanks,

JW

RE: Modifing Patterns

You have a few choices.

1-You cannot use INSERT inside a Pattern. You must delete the pattern, then add your chamfer and then Pattern the features together.

2-Keep the Pattern, and add a chamfer to the original feature of the pattern (this is called the first instance). Then Pattern the chamfer, but select REF PATTERN, and the chamfer will be automically addded to the original pattern. Now you will have two patterns, the hole and the chamfer.

Thanks Steve,
It looks like the second option is probably the one that I am looking for.
