Solidworks Vault and Fasteners

Solidworks Vault and Fasteners

Solidworks Vault and Fasteners

I've been having trouble with solidworks putting the wrong fasteners in assemblies after you check them out. This only happens when another user check out an assembly. Does anyone know how to set the vault up to where this doesn't happen?

RE: Solidworks Vault and Fasteners

I don't check yours out.

Another user checks them out, then you see the problem...or they do?

While I know it's frowned upon to do this...
Why are you checking in your fasteners? More often than not, fasteners aren't revision controlled and don't need to be locked down. In a multi-user environment, the toolbox should reside on a network drive, accessible by all. Yes, you can assign P/N's to the fasteners as needed. This may be part of the issue you're seeing, actually. Are you using a network toolbox?

Yes its when someone other than the original creator of the assembly checks an asembley out do we get this problem. And thoese picturer ours doesn't look like that.

RE: Solidworks Vault and Fasteners

Then you're probably using local installs of toolbox, which will contribute to your problem. You'll need to convert to a network toobox setup.

TravisCraig,
When the toolbox is pathed through network using the VaultAdmin, it displays like that.

So from what it sounds like you always have to be connected to the vault to keep the fasteners stright. Right?
What if you use a home use license?
If you check something out work on it with you home use license disconnected form the vault and then connect to the vault to check it back in will the vault sync the files to keep the problem form reacurring
