B16.5, ASTM SA-193 and SA-194

B16.5, ASTM SA-193 and SA-194

(OP)
B16.5 gives guidance as to acceptable bolting materials to be used for flange bolting.  In Table 1B, different grades of SA-193 are categorized as either high, intermediate or low strength.  In addition, the notes to this table include statements such as 'nuts may be machined from the same material or may be of a compatible grade of ASTM A194'.

My question is this: where is the information that specifies which grade of SA-194 nut is compatible with which grade of SA-193 bolting?  I realize that SA-193 grade B7 bolts are typcially used with SA-194 grade 2H nuts, however I can't locate where this is documented.

My initial thought is that using a nut of the same material, with comparable yield/tensile strength would be sufficient, however it doesn't seem possible to directly compare material properties for SA-193 and SA-194 as for SA-194, only proof loads are published in the material spec.
