RE: SA/GB 6654 16MnR 6mm?

(OP)
the 6mm thickness sa/gb 6654 16mnr plate is not in the ASME II PART D. someone say i can't use the 6mm thickness SA/GB 6654 Plate in ASME designing.

RE: SA/GB 6654 16MnR 6mm?

knstar:
I did a quick review of Section II part D and did not find this material specification and Grade. If it is not listed in Section II, Part D, it cannot be used for pressure boundary application. This material can be used as non-pressure boundary material under the rules of ASME B&PV Code, Section VIII, Div 1.

RE: SA/GB 6654 16MnR 6mm?

(OP)
There is a limits of size/thickness for
16MnR in the ASME SEC.II PART D  page 22 line 14.

This is a new material in the 2008 addenda for the sec. II PART D
