Material Library

Material Library

(OP)
Hey,
I'm trying to apply a picture to a material so I can use it in a model but the stupid material library is "read only" is there a way to make stupid catia give me access to the library?

Thanks

RE: Material Library

Yeah, I've been screwing with it... I can edit materials if I open the Catalog.CATmaterial file but I can't edit anything in the "Library" when I go to apply materials to stuff.  It's pissing me off....

RE: Material Library

If I am in a part and apply a material to it, the CATMaterial file becomes read only when I open it.

Usually, I will add the material I desire, and then save the CATMaterial as CatalogNew.CATMaterial, and then navigate to the directory and rename Catalog.CATMaterial to CatalogOld.CATMaterial and CatalogNew.CATMaterial to Catalog.CATMaterial so that when applying another material it will grab the latest catalog.

Is it a work around? Yes. Does it work? It does appear to.

So that's the only solution?  If so, that definitely sucks....

I'll have a look and see what I can do.  thanks for the reply weavedreamer.
