Sour water material selection

Sour water material selection

Sour water material selection

(OP)
Dear all,

What is the proper material to be used for sour water vessels? currently our contractor is suggesting KCS+3mm 316L ss clad, or should we use SS?

Thanks in Advance.

RE: Sour water material selection

The proper material is the one that meets stipulated performance and economic requirements. If there is a 316L cladding, why would you want a solid stainless steel vessel?  More importantly, what was specified in the first place?

KCS+3mm 316L ss clad should be ok.
