Temperature Sensor

Temperature Sensor

Temperature Sensor

(OP)
Hi

I need to measure the temperature of fluid Viscor(similar properties to gasoline) but I'm not quite sure what type of sensor is suitable for my application

based on their experience can you suggest me any brand of temperature sensor?

with the following characterisitics

* Range Temperature to sense: 0 to 50 centigrade
* Output Sensor: 0-5V

Thanks in advance.

RE: Temperature Sensor

None of the sensors I know of will output 0-5v without a signal conditioner/amplifier. In specifying a solution you need to consider some other factors:
- operating temperature (can be higher than the desired measurement range)
- chemical tolerance (I'm guessing stainless would be fine)
- accuracy and linearity
- RF tolerance
- cost
- response time
- expected life/usage (1 time vs. 5 yrs)

The measurement range is fairly low, so there are many different options. (thermocouple, RTD, infra-red, etc.) There are literally 100's of options so you need to better define the constraints.

ISZ

RE: Temperature Sensor

Temptation would be to go for an RTD for accuracy and a signal conditioning stage to give a standard mA or voltage output but like ISZ says there you have given far too little information to narrow down the choices. Have you an auxiliary supply available? Does this Viscor stuff require hazardous area certfied equipment, because gasoline sure does? Etc, etc.
