reinstalling AutoCad on new computer

mjmike:

I recently replaced my old computer with a new one. When I went to reinstall AutoCad 2007 on the new hard drive I got a message indicating there was a problem with my activation code. Is this a result of the disk being initalized upon original install, If so is there any way I can use the same disks or do I need to upgrade?

RE: reinstalling AutoCad on new computer

Hi MJMIKE,

There's no problem with your disks, AutoCAD generates new request codes with each install, these in turn affect your activation codes.  You'll just need to get new activation codes.

If 2007 is anything like the 2005 that I have then you should be able to migrate the licence from your old PC to the new one using the "portable licence utility" that is part of Autocad.
