Is it a good idea to promote to a customer on site tests which are normally done during FAT, at the midlife of a Switchgear. The tests could be Timing, speed, sychrocity and bounce.

RE: on site FAT

Depends on the application. In the USA NETA-MTS is a good standard to start with for maintenance testing.

You need to ask more specific or detailed question. Asking  broad, nebulous questions won't entice many to respond.

RE: on site FAT

generally, FATs are just that Factory Acceptance Tests.
they are done at the factory in order to lessen chances of improper operation when they get on-site.

most times if something goes bump during an FAT it is easier to fix before it leaves the factory.

on-site tests are usually reserved for final acceptance, payment, and warranty issues.

it also assures the manufacturer that they sent it to you in operating condition according to your PO.  some times field installation can be done incorrectly and the manufacturer is not at fault.

very general answer from both sides of the aisle.

RE: on site FAT

to answer your question arevaengineer, yes it is a good idea. customers need to have their own baseline for maintenance. there are too many timing tools on the market to use the FAT report, i.e. different transducers produce slighty different timings.
