Mcmaster help!!

Mcmaster help!!

Mcmaster help!!

(OP)
I am prototyping and I can't seem to find a simple piece of hardware on my beloved suppliers site.

I need threaded hole (1/4-20 probably) concentric to the end of a 1", .049 wall piece of aluminum tubing.  I don't need a tremendous pull out strength; 50# would be nice.

I don't know the search term, and mcmaster can be rather particular sometimes.  This is a ridiculously simple problem to be held up on, and any ideas would be appreciated.

I know it as a "star nut" (from the bicycle word).  unfortunately, the ones used in bikes are not the right size for my application.

thanks mike!  I never would have thought of it as a "tube connector"!  it's funny- they are on the "speed nuts" catalog page, but when the search goes nuts ->speed nuts, they are no where to be found.

I love mcmaster, but they need to tie their searches together a little better.  when I need some seamless hydraulic tubing, searching "tubing" does not get me there... there are countless other instances...

anyway, thanks!
