Sewage Lagoon Berm Elevation

Sewage Lagoon Berm Elevation

Sewage Lagoon Berm Elevation

(OP)
Starting a project with raising the berm elevation an existing sewage lagoon has been identified as an option. The increase in berm elevation would serve to add protection to the lagoons from a lake that periodically reaches flood elevations.

I am looking for potential issues that might arise with the city sewage system when raising the berm elevation.

RE: Sewage Lagoon Berm Elevation

Not much detail in your post to go on.

Increasing the lagoon berm should not cause any problems at the the treatment plant.

However, if you are discharging against a higher elevation (in a flood for example), you will have to have an effluent pump station.

RE: Sewage Lagoon Berm Elevation

Raising the berm will shelter the lagoon from the breezes.  May need some added aeration devices when waves are lacking near the banks.
