Mondi Piping - Need Pipe Supports (span)

Mondi Piping - Need Pipe Supports (span)

Mondi Piping - Need Pipe Supports (span)

(OP)
We use 16" dia. Mondi piping for sulphuric acid.  I need some information on what the span between pipe supports should be.  We are currently seeing some elongation in the rods - the pipes are hanging from the ceiling structure (beams).

Can anyone offer a suggestion on the span or where I can find more info?

Thanks!

RE: Mondi Piping - Need Pipe Supports (span)

KEnglish,

The MONDI piping information is available at
 www.acidpiping.com
 www.bayportvalve.com

The Nps-16 MONDI is almost 120 lb/ft empty, and add another 160 lb/ft for acid weight.
For practical handling and installation of the flanged spools it would be better to have one support per spool and locate support near the flanged joint weight.  When the span is increased to a double spool length 2x 17 ft then there couuld be 0.5" sagging in mid-span.
