Exporting as .stp losing colours
Exporting as .stp losing colours
(OP)
Hi,
I'm trying to export files from solid edge V100 to 3DVIA.
.stp seams to the best file format I can use as it keeps the part names, but when I save as .stp from solid edge and open it in 3DVIA Composer I lose all part colours and everything is a lovely shade of grey!
I've also tried using .iges but it doesn't keep part names.
Has anyone any ideas or a free program that will let me export to catia or some other common solid data file format.
Cheers
Steve

RE: Exporting as .stp losing colours
that colours did not export should have been fixed with
MP1

RE: Exporting as .stp losing colours
Is it some type of service pack/patch, Should i contact my solid edge seller about this?
Cheers

RE: Exporting as .stp losing colours
prior to V100 (SEwST) they were named SP = ServicePack. With
the advent of SEwST they are now named MP = MaintenancePack.
Which one is installed can be checked whithin SE
SE --> Help. then scroll down to the bottom --> click About
on top of the pop-up window you should find a string like
this 100.00.02.07
the next to last group on the right (02 in this case) is the service
(or maintenance) pack that is installed. When it's 00 no
service has been installed so far.
The last group on the right is the built number and the leftmost
one is the (internal) version number
