markets for positive displacement pump

markets for positive displacement pump

markets for positive displacement pump

(OP)
With few crazy guys we are preparing the program for tests and certifications for a totally different positive displacement pump (unbelievable, but true).

Industrial trials in truly harsh environment (large volume batch synthesis) have revealed quite a few interesting qualities. For example the reduction in energy consumption was really significant. In addition, the pump has been able to fill itself from evacuated vessels. Small hard impurities seem to present no big problems. We also solved the problems related to frequent pressure/vacuum switches.

Currently we are having argument inside the team: which market might have the highest need in different pumping opportunities. We evidently do not have cash to pass all tests and certifications for all potential applications.

We feel ourselves quite confident about claiming low energy. However, we are limited with the capacity - up to 60 m3/h and pressure of up to 8 bar.

Any ideas about targeting the attention?

RE: markets for positive displacement pump

What efficiency will you claim is possible for this pump, what are the possible drivers and/or power sources and what size and weight would it have, given the capacity is 60 m3/h?

RE: markets for positive displacement pump

I'm curious about effeciencies as well.  I can hit 75 - 80% all day long with current technology in Lube/Crude Oil Services.

RE: markets for positive displacement pump

d=350mm, l=170mm, 1000 rpm, weight 60kg, power 1,8kW against 0,1 bar @ 60m3/h, efficiency 90%+ with water solutions and warm soybean oil, no reliable data for more viscous stuff.
The presented efficiency is conservative.

RE: markets for positive displacement pump

Is that 0.1 barg?  Your first post mentioned 8.

Will Your new configured pump rotate from back pressure of the fluid originally being pumped?

Just asking if the device can be used as a hydraulic motor.
